socks.
Oh hello again. My homework just isn't exciting enough at the moment, so I'm taking a little break...it is Saturday night after all! And here I am. Blogging. I'm the coolest.
I worked all day today and yesterday and I just have to say I work with some of the MOST entertaining ladies and gentlemen. I love them. They are the reasons I don't walk out that heavy door yelling "Sionara!" or however you spell it. We are true Maxxinistas. (You can join, just apply for the job. or the credit card! My managers would love you. and me :))
By the way, Black Friday...not bad at all!
Today was a good day. I feel happy! Maybe because I am :)
What I'm grateful for today:
1. No school for 5 days straight. Bless you, Thanksgiving!
2. My giant snow scraper (meant for trucks). I don't even have to go to the other side of my car to scrape!
3. Heaters (when it's working. funny story.)
4. Music that takes you back to a good memory.
5. Best friends.
6. Lindt chocolate truffles. yearly addiction. don't judge me.
7. Walkie-Talkies at work. We just look SO official.
8. Smiling. Smilers.
9. Hairspray. My hair is frizzy, I ran out.
10. Cute scarfs.
11. Maxxinista friends. Their lives.
12. Paper snowflakes.
13. Reconnecting.
14. Me time.
15. My weekend with Val.
16. Customers that tell me their life stories. Really, I love it.
17. Cute watches I can't afford.
18. New jeans.
19. My parents.
20. Coca cola. I'm horrible.
21. Restrooms.
22. Prayer.
23. Listening. Listeners.
24. Lotion. (only mine though)
25. Dancing in the kitchen.
26. Being excited about my major. I LOVE IT!!!
27. Donuts. no, FREE donuts!
28. Sports bras.
29. Striped socks.
30. When my sock wall at work stays clean :)
31. The hairband holding my camera together.
32. The smell of Logan this time of year. So crisp.
33. Plowed roads.
34. Sisters.
35. Not being tired. Oh so rare.
...No specific order (the sock wall should actually be my #1. I kind of despise that thing-when it's messy- and whoever keeps messing it up. Time for some surveillance)
Oh yes. 36. OVERsized earmuffs.

(Kind of)Twins
HAPPY BIRTHDAY (yesterday) to my sister, Heidi!
Heidi is almost exactly 2 months younger than I am. We have grown up together since age 10, in fifth grade. We are so different yet so much alike, I love it!
Heidi is one of the smartest, most spiritual, happiest ladies I know. She has always been a huge example to me. She is graduating from BYU-Idaho as a Nurse in less than a month...HOLY COW! (Are we that old?) No, Heid is just dang smart and knew what she was doing from day one and kept her head in the game, unlike some of us. Or me. I'm pretty jealous if you couldn't tell.
Our unintentional matching swimsuits :)
Heidi got married in May to her lover boy, Ty. They are so much fun to be around, but TOO much time with them just makes me want to get married myself! Good thing they live in Idaho ;)
I have so many great memories with Heidi. The first time I met her we went to church and wore the funniest clothes and hairstyles. Hilariously awkward late-nighters, sometimes with a friend sleeping over (haha). Lake Powell Trips, skinny dipping...shh, don't judge. Birthday concerts full of Celine Dion and Faith Hill. Being asked if we were twins for years after we decided to wear the exact same outfit on our first day at a new school. Senior trip to Cali! Parmesan Chicken. Caramel Popcorn. French Toast. Her banana cookies. Well, I guess I like food (?)
Heidi I am so grateful to have you as a sister. Pretty sure YOU should be the older one! Thank you for all of your advice, you are so wise. I'm so lucky to have you in my life.
I was always slightly jealous of all the twins in the world. Guess what, we're kind of twins :)
Envy us.
Love you Heid!

snowed.in.
Campus closed today at 2 in anticipation for the storm that is supposed to be here at 3.
I can't stop laughing about it.
I have never had a snow day while up here at school (let alone my entire life)...so this storm better be somethin' else!
Too bad I don't even have classes after two. I'm happy for those whose classes and EXAMS were canceled!
Cross your fingers I'll be able to make it home for Thanksgiving and back in time for work on the dreaded black friday!

just.some.thoughts.
Ready for some word vomit?
I’ve had some experiences lately that have made me think quite a bit about “the bigger picture”. I don’t really know where to begin. LIFE IS HARD. I think we can all agree to that. It is so easy to complain, just to get it off your chest. But is that right? Or are we supposed to just hold it all in until the frustration passes? Talking to a friend about it, I realized I need to change in order to not have anything TO complain about. Seems impossible, right?.. Once again, life is hard. Something that I’m going to work on is truly looking at everyone as a brother or sister, a child of God. What hardships could they be going through that I don’t even know? What can I do to help make life just a little bit easier for that person? Another is finding things to look forward to…goals. This will help keep me busy on top of everything and prevent my mind from wanting to turn lazy. And when that goal is accomplished I’m HAPPY!
It is so easy to get bogged down or overwhelmed by all that life throws at you…for me at least. I want to be more positive about it…look at it and ask, “Hey Life, what else do ya have for me?” In a positive tone of course :). As I get older (because I’m SO old ;)) I realize that everything really does happen for a reason. We are here to be tested. Are we capable of getting through our trials to make it back to our Heavenly Father? Am I strong enough to rely 100% on Him? Do I have enough faith to push through the hard days, knowing it will all be okay?
Yes. I think so.
Life is hard. But it is so beautiful. Rather than closing off when it gets too hard, why not stay awake and remember what you can of the good moments in life?
MmmMmmGood
First things first, Sara Bareilles...AMAZING. I've never heard a white girl sing so well! If you don't know her music, look her up. I'm serious...
I went with my sister Britt, brother Ty and Nick's sis Lindsay. I'm so glad I could go. Concerts are the best therapy out there, so thanks Burt for letting me join you on this "artistic" adventure!
I wish you could see the guy that took this picture for us :)
In Sara's words, "I like to listen to this song by myself. In the dark. When it's raining."( I really do love this song though)
I spent the morning with my sister Britt and little Avery, I love days like today!
We went to a REAL mall (which is any one outside of Logan), and to Target. Thanks for the gift card, Margo!
My little undercover shopper :)
In my cooking class today we made rolls, scones, and pizza.
CARB OVERLOAD!

BeGrateful
This weekend was really good, it went by way too fast! I'm not sure how I feel about starting another week of school at 7:30 tomorrow morning.
The three of us met our freshman year and have been great friends since. LOVE them!
Crazy-fun ladies. Love them too.
Congrats to Ky, the new AXO President!
Beehive brews their own root-beer. It's sooo good :)
Last night I babysat some of the cutest little girls ever. We made "Grateful Turkeys".
Family, light, piano, home, scriptures and the ABC's...just to name a few.

I'm so grateful for family, friends, a job that keeps me (super) busy, the opportunity to learn and grow, the gospel, experiences that help me gain a stronger testimony, SLEEP, warm socks, smiling, tests of faith, and cute little kids that remind you that life is still fun!

eggs, eggs, eggs
Today in my cooking class we made 4 egg dishes:
Omelets
Crepes (with cinnamon apple and strawberry filling. mmm)
German Pancakes
& Quiche
That’s a lot of eggs!
The Quiche was the best, filled with lots of cheese, mushrooms, green onions, and ham. YUM.
This lab was definitely my favorite so far because I LOVE breakfast foods! They’re easy, fast and always delicious.
I’m way happy with the major I have chosen. I get to take fun cooking and sewing classes (don’t worry, they can be hard too!) I’m so excited to be able to teach one day, hopefully the students will like quiche :)

Happy Burt-day
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my sister BRITTANY!
I am so lucky to have Britt as a sister and best friend. When we are together there is never a dull moment! It’s hard to believe we are 8 years apart… for one- I feel so close in age because we get along so well. And two- she’s smokin’ hot!
I have always looked up to Britt. When I was little, she was always my “cool big sister on the drill team.” She is such a good dancer, I have always wanted to be as good at dance as Britt. She loves going to Zumba (aerobic salsa dancing!) She kicks everyone’s butt there, especially mine.
Brittany is such a good momma to her little Avery. I love seeing them together. You could already see Ave following in her moms footsteps when she started dancing to Beyonce at age…7 months?
Britt and Nick live up in Logan during the week- WOO HOO! Family in Logan! They have been so helpful to me from day one that I moved up here. I lived with them this Summer which was so great (THANK YOU AGAIN!)
Burt, I hope the age of 29 is so good for you, you deserve it! Love you Sista’! Even if some people think you’re my mom ;)
Windsor Drive - Fall
Windsor Drive was one of the opening bands for Mae. I love, love, LOVE this song. Enjoy :)
