Since our anniversary is during a super crazy time of our lives this year,
we're celebrating early!
We just reserved a night/day at anniversary inn.
Cool? Gross?
Fun!
We chose Juliet's Balcony Suite.
After that we'll be busy packing, packing, cleaning, packing...
Know anyone in Logan looking for a great apartment to rent?
Hit me up!
In other news...
On Friday we headed up to Idaho for Heidi and Ty's graduation.
They both received their Bachelor's degrees and got to walk together!
We're so happy we could be there! We don't have much time
before they're off to Med school.
Did everyone have a hOppy easter?
I am so grateful for this holiday and it's true meaning.
I know that Christ lives and so will we. We are in eternity.
I'm thankful for my life that was saved by Him.
If you have 7 1/2 minutes to spare, watch this
I have the next two days off of work...
May they be productive!!!

We be Trippin'
Jon and I took a quick {seriously!} trip over to California for one of his mission buddy's wedding. The temple, luncheon, and reception were beautiful! I love Cali, but HATE the roads! Seriously, most confusing highways I've ever experienced...lucky for us we have a gps on our phone, we'd probably still be trying to find our way back if it wasn't for that!
After 24 (out of 72) hours in the car, 1594 miles across 4 states, 8 movies,
and a pretty yucky hotel, we're happy to be home :)
and I'm thinking we'll wait a little while before taking another road trip.
We took advantage of one of their Christmas trees.
The happy couple. Mr.&Mrs. Bassett. Congrats!
The LA temple was all lit up, almost as great as the SLC temple.
We walked around for a minute after the wedding, and I was kinda shocked how cold it was outside!
{Duh Me, it is December after all}
We tried getting the Angel Moroni in the picture with us...the bottom right is what we got.
I wish I would have taken more pictures of the reception, I just felt like I would look a weirdo since I knew nobody but my husband.
A bit awkward...
Anyway, it was themed around the 50's! the colors were fun, the candy was old fashioned, her bridesmaids were decked out...I loved it. I love weddings :)
Jonny and I had our Christmas with just the two of us today, since this weekend will be quite crazy! Boy oh boy did we spoil each other. It has been such a great relaxing day, thanks for everything babayyy!
Merry Christmas, everyone. I hope this season has been great for you, and hope we can all keep the spirit that is felt this time of year ALL year long. I'm so grateful for the gift of Christ, our Savior. This next year I will do all I can to come closer to Him, and dedicate myself more in service for others.

Whilst I wait...
The time has come to register for fall 2011 classes. This will be my 7th time going through this process. The internet shuts down, every single Aggie that has facebook begins complaining about how they can't register, and then the next day all you talk about is "how annoying Banner is." Needless to say, it is much harder than it needs to be. Registration opened at midnight, and we are all battling for our chance to get the classes we need in order to continue on our educational path.
So whilst I wait, I write.
Something I like to do is Blog Surfing. I could honestly spend all day long reading through a random persons blog, then when I get tired of that, go to the top of the page and hit "next blog..." I love it. It satisfies me and keeps me entertained. I learn more from strangers, mothers, (gay) mormons, burn victims, crafters, friends, etc...than I seem to learn in my classrooms.
{pause. hit refresh on Banner. continue}
Something hit me today. Well it has been just pinching me for the past while, but it slapped me right in the face today. I AM SELFISH. I swear it seems that all I worry about is ME ME ME. I keep wondering "why am I so stressed?" or "why is this bugging me so much?" Um, hello Ashley. Look around you. Listen to what everyone else is saying. Once you literally forget yourself and go to work, things will get better/easier/simpler. You already know this. How many times do you have to learn?
A lot, apparently.
I am so blessed, you guys. We all are. If you are anything like me, we take the small things for granted.
{refresh.}
Look in the mirror. What do you see? I am critical and will more often than not judge every aspect of my face, body, intelligence (or the lack thereof. Oh look, there I go again), personality, weaknesses. I am my biggest critic.
What I hope to be able to see everyday, and not just at moments, is a reflection of someone who is confident, loving, forgiving, innocent, effort-ful (is that a word), and happy. Because that is who I am.
I am trying, and that is just what I need to keep doing. Try to be better, always.
Someday I won't be too scared to write in my journal, letting go of the fear of reading back and being ashamed or embarrassed. But happy with what I have done and learned and accomplished, and how I have grown. Because if I am trying to be better, always...there's no way I won't grow.
I got some much-needed ear time from 2 of my best friends today. Thank you, ladies. I hope that someday soon I won't have to rely on others words to feel better about myself. I will know my worth and strength and capabilities on my own.
{refresh.}
I will let my walls down and be vulnerable. I will give my life to the Lord. I will trust, with all my heart, in the man that loves me and wants to call me wifey. I will love him endlessly, and never put anyone above him or my Father in Heaven and Savior.
{refresh. nothing.}
I think I will give up on Banner until tomorrow.
Or else I'll keep rambling and you will all think I am crazy for writing on my blog and not in a journal. Don't worry, I'm working on it.
Thanks for visiting and listening. It means a lot.
Until next time: Desire
ps. Happy bday Mom and ValPal

Look to the Light
Christmas time is such a huge reminder of why I love the Gospel.
I have never felt such happiness as when I have when choosing the right and following Christ. I love Him.
I know I can be forgiven for my sins, when I truly repent.
I know He came to this earth to save us, and died that we might live.
I know I will return to my Heavenly Father someday. I can't wait.
It is our choice, will we follow Him?

Day 7
someone that has the biggest impact on you...
My Savior, Jesus Christ. Wow I would be a mess without Him.
He came to this earth, lived and died for us.
He knows me better than I know myself. He will be my judge when life on this earth is over.
He saved me from my sins through the Atonement. He is forgiving.
Even in the loneliest of times I know that I am never truly alone.
I can rely on my Savior in any situation. He knows my every concern, stress, heart ache, happiness...you name it!
I can't wait to see Him again.
I love Him, and He loves me.

HelloDecember!
The month I have been waiting for forever is finally here. I can't believe it! Even though I have to thaw out after each walk to and from campus, I'm doing it with a smile on my face. I love this time of year (minus the shivers). I love the spirit that is constantly present as everyone is in the mood to serve and focus on the important things in life. I am so grateful my Savior came to this earth, fought for each of us, and died for us. I want to be more like him. We are so blessed!
I am so ready for something new. Soon enough :)
