I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! I can't believe it just came and went...It's kind of sad how fast time goes now. slow down. please? I love the Christmas season and the feeling of love and service that comes with it. I love that it is an excuse to spend loads of time with loved-ones. It makes me all excited to have kids (in like 12 years) and teach them about the birth of our Savior. Anyway, I just love Christmas :) I'm back into the work routine, kind of a bummer but it's good to stay busy and focused. Lately I've had this little problem called SLEEPING-THROUGH-MY-ALARM. Here's a (kind of) funny story...I was scheduled to work at 9 this morning, so I planned on leaving home around 7 so I could make it to Logania safely and have some time to get ready. Well I was woken up by "Jon Feller" calling me. Guess what time it was? 9. Yeah, I overslept. Luckily my managers are pretty chill because I wasn't just going to be late, but an hour & a half late. my bad! My dad keeps telling me I'm "burning the candle at both ends." He's probably right, life is crazy busy right now...but I can't imagine it any other way! I'll just say it...I'm actually excited for school to start. I won't be working full time anymore (until Summer) so I can actually feel like a student again. yay :) It has been a great learning experience, I now know it is possible to be running around like a chicken with its head cut off and still be happy and get good grades. Oh the things we can do... What am I grateful for today? no more cheesy music about Santa Claus and being cold outside at work. It's refreshing.
Day 26: a picture of something that means a lot to you
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I can't imagine my life without the Gospel...it molds me, gives me a reason to live, makes me a better person, and gives me hope every single day. I don't have a doubt that it is the true church. If you are ever interested in learning more about it, please call me! Or check it out for yourself here :)
Day 25: a(nother) picture of you and a family member
Miss Avery Lynn. I absolutely adore my nieces and nephew. I'm fortunate enough to live really close to my sister and Avery, so I see her the most. She's a little ball-of-fire and always has me laughing. My mom keeps telling me she's just like me when I was that age. If that's the case then I was DANG cute!
Day 24: a picture of you and a family member
Grandpa Bob. He lives in Seattle and I see him about once or twice a year, sadly! He's hilarious and loves everyone. I'm lucky to have him as my Gramps.
Day 23: the person you've been closest to the longest
Jamie Lee. When I moved to bountiful in 6th grade I guess we hated each other...it's really funny to think back to now! We had science together in 7th grade and became close friends when we tried out for cheer that year. I needed a place to stay when my parents went out of town for a few days, so I randomly called Jame (she probably still hated me at this time..haha). We talked about EVERYTHING that weekend and I think I basically lived there for the rest of Jr high. It was wonderful :) SO we cheered together for 2 years, were Sophomore class officers together, were on Dance Company for 2 years together, and were both officers our senior year. And to top it off, we are both at Utah State :) we are pretty much the same person...but different. It amazes me how tight our friendship can be, no matter how long it has been since we've seen each other. Sometimes life gets crazy busy, but we know we can always count on each other. I can't wait to be Jamie's next door neighbor and for our kiddos to be best friends. Love you Jame!
Day 22: something that confuses you
Being tired! I swear no matter how much or little sleep I get in a night, I'm always tired. Any cures?
The highly anticipated date 12/15/10 just came and went! I couldn't be happier. I would blog about it-but that's just a little impersonal. I'll just say this...
He's finally home!(pardon the 2 year old picture)
I don't think I've ever smiled so much in one day. Happiest day yet.
We've been through a lot, and there have been a few bumps in the road. But we made it :) Welcome home Jonny Boy.
Day 15: a picture of something you want to do before you die...
1. Be legit at playing the guitar. (also add: not be afraid to sing!)
2. Run the NYC Marathon.
3. Have a little (big) family.
Day 14: Someone I couldn't imagine my life without...
This cute thing is my little (or not so little) sister, Tia.
She's 15-going on 25- and is in her first year of high school. holy cow.
Tia and I have always had a pretty tight relationship, we are comfortable talking to each other about problems or concerns and will give comfort in times of need.
If you ever meet her you would probably guess she is much older than she is. Not only for her looks, but for her life experiences she has had and everything she has gone through. I truly admire her for her strength and drive to keep going on looking to the future rather than hold onto the not-so-easy past.
I hope T knows how much I love her, I don't get to see her very often.
I miss the little girl who NEVER let me do her hair (bummer) and who loves giving back and foot massages.
We've had so many good times and I hope for tons more!
Love you T.
I love this season and hope everyone else is enjoying it too!
This semester I took a class called Food Literacy. I didn't like the lecture part of it so much, mainly because it was at 7:30 in the morning.(that isn't THAT early, but it is when you have a habit of staying up until the wee hours of the night. my bad...)
I don't know about you, but learning about pork and lard that early just isn't my ideal way of waking up!
Every Thursday we have a lab where we get to cook ALL KINDS of great recipes. I have come to seriously love the girls in my group. They are some of the nicest and most down to earth ladies I think I will ever meet. On Monday we tie-dyed our hats and aprons for our last lab (which was today). That night we decided we are going to do a marathon together this summer. It has been so fun getting to know them, I'll miss our weekly 3-hour labs full of laughter. But don't you worry, we'll still see each other.
Let's get training!
